Why Become a Member
1. Building Your Business/Reputation
We are successful because of the people we know. Belonging to the Chamber is not about selling things; it’s about building rapport. It’s about meeting people who can help you succeed.
2. The Voice of Business
The Chamber is regularly asked to provide input on behalf of the business community. Whether it’s commenting on government policy, or advising on community issues, the Chamber provides the business perspective.
Events that you can attend - from our monthly Networking Breakfasts and Small Business Breakfast Seminars, to many luncheons, receptions, and seminars, plus our annual Westside Business Excellence Awards and “Business Creating Business” - all designed to bring people together.
4. Chamber Group Insurance
This national group insurance program allows small businesses, even one person operations, to enjoy group dental, extended health, short-term and long-term disability, life and critical illness insurance.
5. Member Discounts
We have a number of discount programs exclusive to Chamber members, including significant savings on Visa and MasterCard merchant rates, as well as a fuel discount program with Petro-Canada. Chamber members always pay less at our workshops and seminars.
6. Promotional Opportunities. The Chamber of Commerce provides promotional opportunities for our members, such as direct-mail flyer inserts, direct-mail flyer sponsorships, web banner ads, and e-mail blast services.
7. Participation in Task Forces and Committees
Volunteer committees are the backbone of the Kitsilano Chamber of Commerce. The chairs and members of these committees are people like you who are enthusiastic and want to make a difference by using their expertise and skills to impact the "Westside's" business success. Our committees include: Events, Excellence Awards, Excellence Nominations, Labour Task Force, Finance, Government Relations, Membership and Power Networking.
Your Chamber is a member of the BC Chamber of Commerce which gives us the ability to express our collective members' viewpoint to Provincial and Federal Governments, through an effective policy process. Please call us for more information.
